Fraud - alleged insurance company phoning about my ife insurance policy (I don't have life insurance)

Didn't answer. Looked it and and over a dozen reports of various scam attempts including pretending to be HMRC.

Missed a call from this No. and called it back, told me that my life insurance policy was out of date or words to that effect, told him he was talking a lot of s**t and blocked this number, yet another SCAM !!!!!!

Caller told me they were from visa and someone was trying to use my card for something costing over £900. It said I should press 1 to cancel or 2 to go ahead. Its obviously nothing to do with Visa so I pressed nothing and hung up the call immediately.

Cynical call, a day after receiving a SSE dividend, an unsolicited call from the USA about my share holding. An Indian sounding person, in a call centre, who had to asked on whose behalf he was calling. Then said it was some form of financial company. As if one would talk about your shares to an unknown person, acting for an off-shore company. Initially he was trying to make me believe he was connected to SSE.

SCAM The caller claims to be from Amazon and in this call discussed my having two Amazon Prime accounts, one with an annual fee and the other with a monthly subscription. She asked whether I wished to cancel the yearly subscription. I replied yes preferring to determine the account on a monthly basis. This number is from scammers in Birmingham wanting your bank details to repay you home appliance warranty overpayments that do not exist. Usually get three to four calls per week from same people using different numbers. A call where nobody spoke directly to me, although the background noise was from an Indian sub-continent call centre, based in London!! Must be classed as dangerous

Automated call, supposedly from Visa, advising of a pending payment of £900 from my account - the usual scam call ("press 1 to speak to an advisor," and then they try to get your bank details.)

I had a phone call from this number today (25/02/2022-17:17) (0161-520-1872 !!!) The person on the line asked for me by name. Which seem very odd to me. As this is a number that I did not know. And told me that he calling to ask if my home had any damaged from the recent bad weather we have had. When I then asked him on how he got my personal number. Amazon Prime subscription scam. I sang him a Christmas carol and he hung up. :-)

SCAM This looked like a local number BUT it was a recorded message purporting to come from Amazon about a sizeable sum taken from my account for an order and to press 1 if it wasn't me who made the order. Needless to say I hung up without pressing any numbers.

Scam/Ambulance chasers. Claiming to be from a legal firm (in his thick Indian accent) calling about my son's recent accident (used his name so his insurance company must have kindly sold his details). When I said he no longer lives here he asked if I'd recently had an accident! I said no and he hung up.

I have listed this as scam SCAM but I do answer unknown out of the blue calls. I believe that if the caller dosen't bother to leave a message, it can't be serious and is probably up to no good. As soon as the caller got the answerphone message they immediately killed the call.

Said he was from Amazon and was phoning about my job resistant order for an iPhone. Wanted to talk about my email then hung up. Appeared to be potentially a scam.
