Explained I was registered with TPS, said it didn t apply to them then hung up while I was talking.
SCAM - Automated Amazon Prime scam call, telling me my (non-existent) Amazon account has been renewed. When I didn’t press ‘1’ to speak to someone, the message started again.
Purported to be from National Crime Agency. Wanted me to call back otherwise my National Insurance number would be deactivated. Not sure that can be done, but anyway did not call back

It could be either spam or scam, but I do not know exactly. I get the last few weeks calls from this number that I always miss. A message is never left behind, which is weird.

Number claims to be from NHS stating I have been in contact with someone who has Omicron Variant and I must order a free PCR testing kit and left a link to claim it. How would they know I have been in contact with someone with that variant? Expect it is a scam and if I clicked on the link who knows what the result might be. Needless to say, not going to click on the link

Silent call The owners of this number need to learn how to use an autodialler properly. Twice today (so far) I've picked up phone to silence at the other end. Whatever they're selling, I'd be reluctant to buy from a company that makes silent calls because they can't set up an autodialler correctly. Clue: You need people at YOUR end to speak to those who pick up. Amateurs!

An Asian gentleman said he was from talk talk and needed to check my router. Asked for access to my PC which I reluctantly gave as he was able to give me part of my address and my talk talk account number. Offered me a refund of ?200 but I needed to access my bank account. He had control of my PC so I did not want to do this. Hung up on him as he was too persistent for comfort!!!

SCAM - addressed me by my name and verified my address. The lady basically said that my fibre-glass wool loft insulation is no longer valid and they in my area tomorrow doing surveys in the neighbouring roads. I said that I was in the property business and I have not heard of this and I would need to look into it. And guess what he phone went dead. How rude, not even a goodbye.

SCAM I leave my answerphone on permanently for call screening. This number called this morning and the recorded message must have started before the answerphone greeting had finished with the result that I only got a very small part of the message left. on 22 june the above number 0161 8735544 rang my son and said that an amount of ?1500.00 was waiting to be claimed fir whiplash for a accident he had in 2009 foulishly he gave them details including his mobile phone number and said they will ring him on monday 25th june to follow this up. blocked this number, because it is a very close number to a previous gas cold caller and an insurance scam number. the only difference is the last digit. they must have bought a job lot of numbers.

SCAM - Seems to be a call centre as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities.
