01672 500071 Marlborough appears on caller id. That's the location. I did get a stupid Paypal phishing email. That's a different matter.
Although number came up as 01689 325137 I missed call message that said the number was 0161 814 9317.
Answered and they immediately hung up.
We had quite a few calls from this number a few months ago. It was some telemarketer, but I don t remember which company it (allegedly was). Either way, I m 100% it had nothing to do with insurance, but that s what they called about yesterday. Same number. We had written it down in case they call again, so we d block the number. Calling persistently for a person who has never ever lived at this address ( at least not in the past 20 years! ). When I tell the indian call centre person this, as I do on each call, they then ask for the road or street number, which I decline to give them as they should know the details of the person they are calling for.
Said his name was Chris and he was an advisor, when I said it was a bad line and I couldn't understand him it went silent. He probably wasn't programmed to answer that!!

Obvious scam, claiming to be from EE retaining department. If you google the number it comes up as a Noodle bar in London. The guy on the call couldn't stop stumbling over his words when I called him out on things and then laughed at me when I said I knew it was a scam.
