This is updating a previous comment I made. The number is definitely Social Services but you cannot return the call to this number directly as it seems to be a main switchboard and is constantly engaged - you need to have the extension for the person who contacts you. If you don t have an answerphone then you will have to answer the call to find out who exactly is calling and for what reason.

Was asked if I had debts and how I could clear them easily. However, I have also had calls from the same number stating they were Microsoft Technical Engineers - had plenty of them trying to scam me for bank details.

How would they know I have been in contact with someone with that variant? Expect it is a scam and if I clicked on the link who knows what the result might be. SCAM - pretends to be from Microsoft saying computer has downloaded malicious software. Gets recipient to go to PC. Identifies PC/Mac by asking to describe keyboard. For mac uses Spotlight to launch console - didn’t run with it any further. Caller does know the name accociated with the phone number. Caller has strong asian accent with a regular uk name.
