SCAM - Received a call from this number. A recorded message with american ascent tells you it is from BT and there has been hacking activities on your line. Research shows that there is a well known BT hacking scam with a recorded message. This call was 30 mins after an identical from another number 01214360911. Don't phone this number back. This is complete rubbish. If there was a genuine case against you in terms of any owed tax, HMRC would not get a computer generated voice to leave a threatening message.

This claims to be from Facebook but it was just a number and the location is Manchester/Burnley - this is not how FB normally sends 2 Factor ID. Is it a scam number?

missed call when i rang it back line just goes beep then cuts off. Bad sign - trustworthy companies have a recorded message explaining who they are, etc. Did a bit of research - very worrying. consumer websites show people being asked for their bank card details then fees being debited that they werent expecting. Sounds like a scam or at least very, very sharp practise. Avoid answering or block number, is my advice.

26 Nov 2021 - Man with thick, asian accent called me, purporting from a company called "White Goods Repair" based in Luton, telling me that my Indesit washing machine warranty had expired and did I want to extend it. Asian type voice called about our computer - surprise surprise. We kept her talking for almost 3 minutes pretending we were grateful for her help. When asked what we could see on the screen (we didn t switch it on) we used the well used phrase beware Asians asking about your computer . She promptly ended the call.
