Somebody just called asked my name and when i said Yes that me they hanged up.

Caller tried to tell me they HMRC and that I owed tax. In the end I told them I would go directly to HMRC

A woman with a West African accent phoned me at 4.30 pm on 12th July 2012. She asked me how my "claim" was progressing and whether she could help. Obviously a telemarketing call because there was the usual buzz of conversation in the background. The annoying thing is that I m on the Telephone Preference List of people who should *NOT* be contacted by telemarketers. Unfortunately, it doesn t seem to have worked in this case. They told me they work together with UK company called Green Energy UK. I contacted Green Energy UK and in fact they do not corporate with anyone. I was offered to meet and talk about benefits of having solar panels, but I doubt I go because they were already lying to me about their corporation.

Scam. American type accent called about an accident I supposedly had. I ve only had my phone number for a week and only given it out out my Mum so I guess they re calling random numbers, or all the numbers between two real ones - in either case they don t have the details of any accident.

This Number Belongs to Lloyds banking group, i was Sceptical to start with but rang my bank (Lloyds) to confirm the persons name and he IS part of Lloyds Group Customer Services.
