Subcontinental-sounding told me I needed a box to stop nuisance calls - two pounds fifty a month for three years! Caller Display does it much cheaper and I don t usually answer calls from 0845- numbers. Curious this time.

This number is now being used by a company calling itself Ownership Release Services. Usual lies about claims for mis-selling of timeshare. This number is also used by Timeshare Solutions Release and Timeshare Release.

SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. Phone rang at approx 7.30pm Sat 25 Oct 2014. Answered and said "Hello". An Asian woman asked for me by name, but there was a lot of noise in the background so immediately made me think that this was wrong. If it was a reputable company (who should still be not allowed to make cold calls) it would be silent. I didn t confirm my name but asked who the company was. Very bubbly sounding lady called Leslie, on a terrible line, called from this number. Claimed to be from some kind of insurance company, said the information had come from the "Road Traffic Accident Commission" or similar. Apparently I was in an accident that wasn t my fault. After asking her to repeat her company name, and pointing out that I hadn t had an accident, she hung up on me.
