Fraud Just had that call to my work landline number from "Sky technical support", claiming they've been monitoring my broadband line and "someone has been attacking it and stealing my personal data over the past few weeks". Hung up pretty quick when I mentioned I work for Sky. Suspect they would have gone on to ask for my personal details, bank cards etc. had I not given the game away. Nothing whatsoever to do with Sky, clearly a scam.

A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to a company called Steel Plus 1, based in Romford, Essex.

SCAM - Told them to take a number off the list as the person has a memory dissorder. Have called daily after that, telling it is the first time they call. Different numbers, but same person called back right after from this number. She called from RCN Investments and if that is true, that she called because the person wrote her number at THEIR webpage- then they have sold the number to several other companies, because the phone is calling several times a day after the day she register on a web-page.

SPAM: I received two consecutive missed calls from this number which were minute apart. Phone rang once and ended. Same number called again which only rang once again. Somehow the number left me a voicemail 2 seconds after the second call ended. I cannot find a search for this number online. RHAK, ILFORD.
Just put the number on your rejected list.. it depends what phone you got but with my phone Samsung Galaxy I got that option

Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

Received a call from this company who asked me to confirm personal details so that they could process a claim for personal injury I was entitled to despite not being injured. Pretending to be from Virgin Media Cyber security department, informing me that there is someone in California using my IP address for illegal purposes, but he would help me sort it out. Refused to tell me the name on the account or the account number because it was a recorded call, having told me it was a secure line and that he would "prove" to me that he was from Virgin if I gave him the information he asked for.

This no 01916718030 called me and was asking me if I have a premium bank account. I've asked them to remove me from their data base and they insisted I answer their question.
Not sure what to label this - the call came on my work phone, no introduction, just an automated voice saying I would lose my national insurance number in court if I don't press '1' then it went silent, so I assume they wanted me to press the number and give them my bank deets

After doing an online insurance comparison on go compare, they call 2 or 3 time in quick succession until you answer. They are just following up your quotation, but if I do a comparison on line, it s because I don t want the hassle of talking to people like this on the phone. Ironically, they were the cheapest quote but it did put me off a little. I ve still got 2 days to decide and will probably go with them so they don t really need to be doing these "follow up" calls.
