I received a call from this number telling me that had a call for me and that they were transferring me. I put the phone down quickly in case I would then be charged for the call.

SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. Arrived within email - “thedomainbureau.co.uk” Very suspect email.. looks like a domain renewal scam .. fake invoices for real domain renewals. I phoned the number - said they were a Utility discount company or words to the effect that they give quotes for cheaper utilities.. the woman answering did not recongnise “domain bureau” - which suggests what? Either folk at that business are running (multiple) scams, or denial is how they avoid people confronting them.. “plausible denialbilty”
