Android phone states potential fraud - blocked

This number called 3 times in two days, doesn t leave a voicemail, I don t recognize the number so I refuse to answer it.

Two calls in five minutes just now. Marketing survey. Phone now un-plugged so that we can finish our evening meal together.

An Asian gentleman said he was from talk talk and needed to check my router. Asked for access to my PC which I reluctantly gave as he was able to give me part of my address and my talk talk account number. Offered me a refund of ?200 but I needed to access my bank account. He had control of my PC so I did not want to do this. Hung up on him as he was too persistent for comfort!!!

This phone number calls me every day at the same time but no one speaks! It has been happening for 2 weeks so far!

Possible scam?

an odd looking number, why only 5 digits after the area code? Not a Newark number although a Neewark area code.

I m in Scotland. I received a call from this number while I was at work...couldn t answer. I called back several times, but the line just sounds dead...three beeps. I ve had this kind of thing before from different numbers..usually a PPI-related call. I ve probably missed out on an amazing cash flow injection into my bank account, a once-in-a-lifetime sales opportunity or a fantastic holiday to the Bahamas. But for now, I ve just saved the number as Crank Call and I advise you do the same.

Appreciate this seems to be a legit and helpful company from the other messages left here, but I just received a call from these guys and had no idea why they were calling me. This number comes from a agency in London working on behalf of the times newspaper. If you answer them tell them you want their registered address so you can bill them ?10 per minute, that ll get rid of them, but if the do recall then send them a invoice sent as tracked, and they have to pay you if you pursue to a small debt court. These people call me at least 3 times a day, and it has been going on for months. I received couple of times calls from this nuber. Everytime the lady on phone has very strong accent, hard to understand. They known my old address, Name and surname, Everytime I ve been asked to confirm my address and details and then something about loands I ve taken in last 10 yrs, credit cards.. I ve received 3 calls from these idiots - two I failed to answer but after reading posts on sites like this decided, for my own amusement, to answer on the third call. The chap on the other end rambled on about insurance and said he was from a company called Red Star. When I asked who Red Star were he got quite abrupt/aggressive.
