Be careful, I was called with an offer from ‘Currys Carphonewarehouse’ to reduce my mobile sim cost while upgrading the data and minutes allowance and the scammers already had a lot of my personal information including the monthly cost of my current sim plan. The dodgy email account they sent me a confirmation email from was [email protected]. They also called me on 07842778977, 07843577187 & 07848628655. Another landline number associated with the scammers is 02034042911.

I was unable to answer the call from this number because my screen was playing up. It did not light up in any way so I couldn't see how to answer or anything. A few minutes later I needed to make a call so I spent some time getting the screen to light up in order to dial out. Surprisingly this number was still calling me. This number cold called me regarding an ee phone contract. Can't say for sure it isn't legit, but I have my suspicions as it sounded like a foreign call centre and they had no reason to call me. Caller claimed to be from BT openreach calling about internet issues. They asked me to run a speed test and when I said I had 69 download and 18 upload they said that the difference was an issue. When I pointed out that it was always like that, and wasn't supposed to be the same they hung up. Obviously a scam.

I got text messages from this number, claiming to be someone called Emma. I was nearly taken in until they asked for a Phone voucher because they were in the hospital. I then realised that the only Emma I know enough is a Consultant Paediatrician, and so probably wouldn't be asking for money. Potentially dangerous

A very well spoken man said he was calling from some company (I didn't catch the name) to do with my Scottish Widows life insurance.
