Clearly Indian gentleman claiming to be from BT and saying that my internet connection was slow. I told him it was fine and he hung up without another word.
I Got the call twice from this number to my mobile phone within a week. First time its disconnected as soon as I picked the call. Second time someone spoke with me and verified my name by telling the name correctly and asking that have I met with a road accident and claiming. I have replied my name is correct but I didn t met any accident and applying claims. Call center, supposed to be calling from Manchester but sound like they come from quite a bit further away.

Looks like a scam message from HMRC.
Caller says he can appeal our business rates and save money. Howver a google search shows Melville consulting is a scam operator that lodges the appeal online, which anybody csn do, thrn charges £700 after which they do nothing. Same phone number also brlobgs to Webster and Long. Avoid. In most cases there is no chance of rates reduction. Its easy to check on .gov site the rates details for your property.
SCAM Automated speech states your NINO will be cancelled due to unethical financial activity. Press 1 for info. Presumably at a huge cost.

SCAMMER: Indian, female voice said that there had been illegal activity on my internet line. Said she was from BT and that somebody had conducted illegal activity and it was recorded on their server. Played a long for a little while then let the scamming witch know what she is.

This is a scam but a worrying one - the Asian sounding caller knew what account add ons I had on Virgin Media but some 2 years ago. Checked with the real VM and they have not rung me!

Phone call this morning claiming to be from HMRC that I have an outstanding tax bill and to press one to speak to the legal team. I just hung up. Clearly a scam.
Answered & they hung up.
Apparently this number is HMRC and if I don't press 1, a warrant will be issued for my arrest!
Phoned 14th Sept at 13.23. No message. Number unknown to me. Don t know anyone in Cardiff!
Automated message saying something about some suspicious activity in my name and wanted me to press 1 to connect to the officer concerned. It said I wouldn’t be able to use my national insurance number if I didn’t press 1 and talk to the officer. Didn’t mention my name if any details, and hung up after 30 seconds. Seems like a phishing scam.
NEVER call an unknown number back as you may be calling a Premium Rate or International number which will cause a large charge to be added to your bill.
