Survey I think. Wanted to ask me 3 questions and at that I said no and cleared the call. Followed with blocking it for good.
SCAM Said they were O2. Very convincing. Sent an OTP, like a fool, I gave it to them. By the time their call ended, and I got through to O2 (max 10 minutes), they’d already changed my email and postal addresses. O2 tell me the only time they will ask for the OTP is when a customer calls them. Looks like I stopped them in time, all details now changed, and security info changed, but be careful people. I’m a cautious type, but they fooled me

SCAM. The caller was a woman claiming to be based in Cape Town, South Africa. She further claimed to be from the energy company – E.ON – that supplies me with electricity. She knew or guessed my first name, and asked for confirmation of details of my name and mailing address. However, she did NOT ask for – nor did she receive – my e˗mail address, my account number, or any bank or credit card or debit card details. Furthermore, she did not ask for immediate payment. Have nothing to do with this number.

Furthermore, I know that my landlord do not deal with anyone that would just cold call tenants, especially one that uses an asian call center. He said they were having some problems which are affecting my internet connection but the call then disconnected. I've been with Virgin for many years and they've never once phoned me when there's been problems in the past. Couldn't make out the company they claimed to be from, was very noisy but sounded like a foreign call centre. When I repeatedly but politely asked them to confirm who they were calling from and not getting it I was called a "stupid person". I believe they may have been claiming to be from a mobile phone company.
Call received 14.30 on 17/4/2023. Recorded message purporting to come from a bank fraud prevention team (no bank named) alleging that two suspicious requests had been received for payments from "your account" (no account details given). No evidence of unexpected activity in my accounts. SPAM.
