Rang at 6.30pm - I didn t recognise number so let ansafone take it - they didn t leave a message. I checked on this site to see who they were, so when the same number rang again at 7.20pm I answered (to wind them up!). Only just reactivated my faithful old w995i, it s been on 5minutes and this numbers tried to call me. I didn t answer as everyone on my contacts list knows I use a different number, it s not the first time they ve called but I m on Orange not Vodafone??

I ignore all calls coming into my landline number until the caller speaks. If no one speaks within a few seconds, I assume that I ve been called by an autodialler which is activated by the sound of my voice, and because I ve remained silent.... nothing happens, or I hang up. I then dial 1471 for the number and Google it. I never call any numbers they ve left for me to call. If they are too lazy to make any effort to contact me themselves.... then their call can t be that important!

It seems to be the start of the open pest phone calls season - I haven t answered the phone for 3 years now and have a peaceful life - except for the phone ringing. Why does the government not make this constant harassment illegal? Freedom of speech is OK to a certain extent as we have seen in recent years religious pests but surely the recipient is entitled to a quite life.

The automated old HMRC tax scam!

Pretended to be from telephone preference service. When I asked if he was from same people who used to claim to be from Microsoft, he hung up.

Someone called me on this number saying my mum had hurt her leg and was in hospital. When I called her, she said she was fine. Don't know if it was a prank call or not.

Was told it was BT investigating a problem on my WiFi connection - true - asked me to connect to Google & start typing something in. Couldn't understand the Indian acc...

A young woman informed me that i had been involved in a car accident and was this correct? I informed her i had not been in a car accident and that i was registered with the Telephone Preference Service and asked her to take my details off any Call lists and i bid her goodbye and promptly put the phone down.

Caller to our TPS registered number wrongly claiming to be "your current energy supplier". Attempted to tell me I was wrong when I told him that they weren t our supplier, and demanded to know if I was "the manager", and then attempted a line of stammering bullshit when I asked him to prove his credentials by quoting me the account number and the name of the account holder. A complete, lying, shyster who got himself told to sod off, in fairly short order.

This number calls most days, and say they have heard from the advice bureau that someone at this address has had an accident in the last two years. This is not correct so I say definitely not and put the phone down.

Non-native English speaker asked for someone I ve never heard of, then wanted the lady of the house instead. Hung up but they rang back two hours later. Complained to TPS.

I was on here one day ago, complained about this lot already, they have called me yet again a day later. Reported to TPS first time, will do so again, I m not interested in their boiler replacement scheme.

These are a real pest. Calls mobile several times a day, always silent. Just block and report them to Ofcom. They also call from 01290803466.
