SCAMMERS. I have just been called by them. They knew who to ask for, but it was an unsolicited call "checking my details" to see if they were up to date. The man with a foreign accent (I know that doesn't mean anything necessarily) seemed unconfident and not quite right somehow. It was unlike any bank call I have ever received. When I said I would prefer not to discuss anything with him over the phone due to extensive scamming he said he would send me a letter. I agree with previous comments. This is a scam

Melville consultants visited my company saying they could appeal and reduce our business rates. The person who visited was Peter John. He said they could put in an appeal, no charge, but if appeal accepted then they would charge to complete the appeal and send in a surveyor. After researching it turns out anybody can put an appeal it takes a few minutes -the whole thing is a complete scam avoid at all costs. Got several silent calls from this number. On the final one a woman asked for someone who lived here 3 years ago but obviously only had the surname as she asked for "mr or mrs" - there was no mr. She cut the call off when I said there was no-one here of that name. Have now reported the call to ICO and barred the number from calling me again.
I had a call from this number - claiming to be the tax office - automated service said there is a fraud case against me and if I didnt stay on the line a warrant for my arrest would be issued. I stayed on the kine for a moment then hung uo as I did not get a human. Thus was to my work phone number not my personal number - i feel it is a scam.
