Scam number pretending to be Microsoft
Rang today claiming to be from the British Gas metering team. I asked them to prove it by providing my account number. Gave me a string of numbers - not my account number. Foreign accent.
They keep calling for past resident in my home for the past 2 years. I tell them he has moved out and they hang up. Very rude company.
Missed call cannot ring the number back which screams SCAM or high pressure sales call. I have been pestered recently by buy to rent mortgage type people although not from the area code (Torquay) and estate planning neither of which would be of any use to me. Would love to know where they got my number from.

Many calls from this and similar numbers to my (unused so number never given out) landline. In the past hour I've had 6 calls, their last two digits have changed each time but the rest is the same. As soon as the answer machine kicks in they hang up.
SCAM Call from an automated voice saying they were from 'Bank Security' or some such nonsense, listing a couple of suspicious payments supposedly made from my bank account. I was directed to press a key to talk to someone but I hung up.

This is the 3rd different number used by the same scammers. Unusual card transaction £300 & £1000. Odd they never tell whose card or what card and always sane amount. SCAM Some foreign (Indian as usual) scammer phoned and asked Mr (me by name) I answered yes and they said they were (English name, obviously made up and theirs for the day) and from Life Insurance. Then asked how I was doing and when I replied they just hung up. HOW RUDE! Pity really, as I pride myself on keeping them on the line as long as I can.
