I got called by this number at 18:07. The line was silent and when I hung up it called again. A quick search suggested it was Barclays Bank. An odd time of day for a bank to call! I contacted Barclays via their app for a live text chat. The operator assured me it was a Barclays number and not a scam. Said that because they’d refunded an overpayment that my account may show in arrears and I may receive an automated letter due to this error. They will remove it but wanted to let me know that they may not be able to stop the letter. If they’re making this many calls for this reason they should probably just have sent an email to everyone!
