Kept on getting calls to my landline from this number. The caller keeps on asking for a Mr Clark. I have informed them many times that this person does not live at this address and to stop calling me. It is very frustrating when you keep on receiving these nuisance calls, especially when my number is ex-directory and I have registered it with TPS.

HMRC Tax Scam. I had time to spare so led them a merry dance. They claim to be HMRC and that there's historical errors in your income tax, and that HMRC have had an arrest warrant issued! I acted innocent, and after wasting about 30 mins of their time, it eventually got around to asking me to buy Google Play cards to the value of the amount supposedly owed. At that point (having given them false personal info), I finally said I wasn't fooled and they hung up. At least I wasted their time!

Fraud SCAM Cold call. Indian voice asks you to give long card number as some payment at some time "did not go through". I remember no such occasion with an Indian agent, and if this does happen with any other, they immediately check and enter the card number again and it does go through. I said I can't just give my card number to an unknown caller for an unknown transaction, and the agent said he would get their lawyers to deal with me. I have blocked the number.

Automated message saying something about some suspicious activity in my name and wanted me to press 1 to connect to the officer concerned. It said I wouldn’t be able to use my national insurance number if I didn’t press 1 and talk to the officer. Didn’t mention my name if any details, and hung up after 30 seconds. This is a scam but a worrying one - the Asian sounding caller knew what account add ons I had on Virgin Media but some 2 years ago. Checked with the real VM and they have not rung me!
Answered phone and electronic voice said ‘hello, if you have debts of more than’ - it was at this point I put the phone down. Dangerous call, avoid. I don’t even have any debt!
