I Got the call twice from this number to my mobile phone within a week. First time its disconnected as soon as I picked the call. Second time someone spoke with me and verified my name by telling the name correctly and asking that have I met with a road accident and claiming. I have replied my name is correct but I didn t met any accident and applying claims. Called several times. Call cuts out when my answerphone cuts in, a common occurrence with telesales agencies. It seems they wait to get a human voice and until you speak all you hear is a silence... say hello and the noise of a call centre cuts in.

Tried calling them back, went through to someone who obviously wasn't expecting calls in to them, sounded like a call centre. They hung up and didn't talk to me.

Very suspicious callers. Claiming to be a Pensions firm asking for personal details including even your Nat Ins number which I did not divulge to them. Their response was to say "we cannot proceed any further without this". They do have English accents. My suspicions are confirmed when I try to call back on this number - phone just goes dead. If these people are not scammers - they do a very good impression of scammers.

This is a scam but a worrying one - the Asian sounding caller knew what account add ons I had on Virgin Media but some 2 years ago. Checked with the real VM and they have not rung me!
I don t know why they give out 0843 numbers because they all seem to be used for these types of premium rate scams. If you register for the non-existant prize draw you are charged huge sums for every message you get from them until all of your phone credit is gone.
