Thank goodness for blocking facility. Fifty three blocked calls in last seven days. Started when mobile phone contract which I had taken out via Carphone Warehouse ceased. Looked up number on this site after first two unanswered calls and then blocked it.
Two calls today from this number, both using the same script on home security. Asked for me by name on a business line which is CPR listed so legally should not receive any unsolicited sales or marketing calls. They introduced themselves as "Crime Prevention Officers" looking into recent spate of burglaries in area and gave the impression they were connected to the police if not actually officers. Said I wasn't interested and to stop calling. I then added them to the auto reject list. Turns out that was a good thing because the next day they called me 7 times in three hours. Official O2 or not, it's definitely a nuisance call.
