SCAM; beware, there was a recorded message saying £600 transaction had just happened on my credit card and to press 1 to stop the transaction. my credit card complant would not call me from a mobile number using a recorded message. BEWARE

Called pretending to be Carphone Warehouse to "upgrade" my phone. Could not tell me what phone I currently had, What carrier I was on. Stated they ONLY had my name and number.

I called the number back from a Hidden land line number. This is an energy cold caller rep called Chris and when I asked why they call my mobile he hung up.

They 'sell' unnecessary appliance insurance such as TV or washing machine cover, household wiring cover, and boiler cover, often at extortionate amounts higher than cost of replacement of appliance for new. Once they have your bank or card details, they set you up for additional policies you didn't want, often for appliances you don't even own. I doubt there's actually any cover in place. Claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse. Told them I have no car and no phone and hung up.

Caller said he was Virgin Media Technical Department and believed I was having trouble with my internet speed. He wanted me to do a speed test but when I said that I couldn't do that he disconnected. I've been with Virgin for many years and they've never phoned me in the past. As far as I'm aware, Virgin never phone customers when there's any problem so I'm rating this call as dangerous.

An Asian voice, poor English spoken, said they were from Open Reach, and needed to check my modem. They made a give-away mistake as they got my internet provider wrong. This is the third call over the last 10 days, saying the same thing. But I didn't make a note of the number until the third time they called, which was today at 4.30 pm.
