Recorded message purportedly from HMRC. Apparently I owe them money ( I don’t by the way). I recently had a similar call from a different number to my landline, also supposedly from HMRC but that one was telling me there was a warrant out for my arrest for non payment of tax! Too ridiculous for words but anyone who is vulnerable could easily be frightened by calls like this.
Just wondered who it was. They called on my mobile and I couldn't hear them properly as I was on the bus. I hung up.

SCAM This is a call centre saying it is a courtesy call due to an appliances warrantee expiring, on this instance it was a washing machine, so quite believable. They wanted £65 per year for another 3 years full cover. It sounded very genuine until she said that she wanted me to tell her the name and make of my appliance and i said that i was ok and didn't want to renew the warrantee as i'd had it for over 5 years, then they just hung up and the line went dead. I have received several calls to my mobile from this number recently. If I don t answer the phone, they don t leave a message and when I do answer it the caller appears to hang up. I am wandering if it is SPAM or a wrong number (but surely if the latter they would have left a message for someone else or spoken to me and discovered the error). I ve noticed several Manchester numbers being associated with unwanted calls to EE customers and wonder if this number is also being used by the same people/company.
Four calls a day for the last five days. No messages left. Blocked on the basis of what I've read on here.

They rang, called me by name, claimed to be from Legal & General Domestic Services, said that my washing machine warranty was running out, did I want to renew it. My washing machine is over 20 years out and never had an extended warranty, also I don't have any warranties from Legal & General. When I started asking questions they hung up.
Fraud - claiming to be from HMRC and stating a fraud claim has been lodged. Attempts to scare you by saying rejecting the call will automatically issue a warrant.
