Answered call on my landline to hear recorded message allegedly forwarded from BT to say that my broadband and telephone line are to be disconnected. I was invited to chose options for further information, which I have not done. As my bills are paid in advance and are up to date I have ignored this. I believe this to be malicious SPAM.

Broad Indian accent, difficult to understand but the general gist I got was he wanted my details so he can save me 30-40% off my bill. Had to press for details on what bill he was saving me money on, he stammered and, almost like he was guessing, said my O2 mobile phone bill. Nobody in this house has any O2 devices so be safe - don't give these scumbags any details. Block the number, maybe work out some of your anger by screaming abuse at them as I did.

Consider it DANGEROUS, if you answer, they know that your number is active, sell your number on, and you will be bombarded, they will log your times on answering and build a profile of you, and eventually you are bait. I’ve experienced a very odd phone call this afternoon. Automated phone call as soon as I said “hello” the automated phone call started. “Your name has been used in a fraud claim, from the HMRC. Press 1 to speak to someone..” - I put the phone down. My phone didn’t let me ring or receive phone calls for around 3-4minutes after. The mobile phone number used 07719 494435
