The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. This is the 3rd different number used by the same scammers. Unusual card transaction £300 & £1000. Odd they never tell whose card or what card and always sane amount. Need to be gulible to get conned by these numpties. If in doubt call the number on the back of your card. Never react to their suggestions. Dont be fooled.
The man told me he was from a credit help place, didn't offer any security checks or business name. Possible spam or fraud, doesn't make sense why a business would be calling from a mobile number either.
