It seems to be the start of the open pest phone calls season - I haven t answered the phone for 3 years now and have a peaceful life - except for the phone ringing. Why does the government not make this constant harassment illegal? Freedom of speech is OK to a certain extent as we have seen in recent years religious pests but surely the recipient is entitled to a quite life.

I was called by this number, first of all a long silence and then eventually a foreign sounding voice (female) said hello a few times - I treated her to the silent treatment and...
SCAM / SPAM This was an English speaking polite male telling me that the Government funded insulation in my loft could be causing damage to my property and he wanted to arrange a visit to examine it. Fortunately before the call went any further he mentioned the "foam insulation" and when I said it was not foam in my loft he rang off. OBVIOUSLY A SCAM. He didn't get round to asking for bank details but I am sure he would have it I hadn't realised what he was up to.
Same SCAM again a different number (energy supplier) on no account give out any personal details. Trading Standards have already warned about this latest SCAM!

This number messaged and it gives a website that looks like post office website but a different address. It was saying that the delivery has failed and you need to pay a redelivery fee before the delivery is sent out again.

Rang at 6.30pm - I didn t recognise number so let ansafone take it - they didn t leave a message. I checked on this site to see who they were, so when the same number rang again at 7.20pm I answered (to wind them up!). Automated message telling me my national insurance number is being suspended because it has been linked to various illegal activity and I need to press 1 to speak to an officer if I want to avoid my property being seized and myself arrested. They must think I was born yesterday as I have no intention of pressing 1 where I suspect I would be asked for lots of personal information and a payment to clear a debt I don’t have. I blocked the number instead.

I had one called ruby (again indian sounding), my washing machine warranty was ending, let her go through all the spiel re cost etc, after shed finished I said I will take the highest cost one, but on one condition... tada, drum roll..... she tell e her real indian name and where in india she was based.. but, but, but lol,,, then as she kept speaking, i kept talking over her asking her indian name and where in india she was based and that it was a scam. she then told me to shut up then hung up on me :(

Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. Two hours later, the same message arrived on my wife s mobile. Clearly some sort of scam but I do not know what.
