Similar numbers have called before and I don't answer as end numbers after 01270 are not from within Crewe itself. I know as in Crewe myself. HMRC fake. Also aggressive answer phone asking me to talk to an agent (press1) or before legal action taken. I don't care if they are the real HMRC, send me a letter or deliver notice by plod.
Fraud A banking scam - purporting to be TSB and checking fraudulent transactions. Almost convinced us to give standing orders and direct debit details, and had confirmed a couple of transaction. I asked how they have my number and she said from a shared database of all UK providers, although this would seemingly breach GDPR for sharing customer's contact details and wouldn't make sense for the businesses to risk losing customers this way. The caller, Liam, claimed to be from Premier Rewards ... wanting to give me some money! Like, yeah!! I consider this to be a 'SPAM' call and potentially dangerous. The caller kept interrupting me - a known tactic from SPAM callers! My suggestion to anyone is to just Hang Up!
