I put the phone down and did no more but this is not something I have requested and I think could be dangerous. Three possibilities : they bought the number for their business from a telecoms provider, they hijacked it from a genuine user, or they spoofed it.

Automated call Called by this number saying that this is a warning that some money will be taken from my account today. I have never heard of a bank that calls a person without the person calling forst so it is obviously a scam. Not sure how they scam, but I have blocked this caller now and it will be blocked forever. Just be aware and check your passwords etc on your bank details.

They offered me a 40% discount on my EE bill. I checked with EE and its a scam, nothing to do with EE. They ask some personal questions (which i refused to answer) then send a generic email, Subject 'EE Upgradation' (im not even sure that's a word, is it) saying Welcome to EE, etc, etc. I hung up and suggest you do the same.
SCAM apparently my parcel is being held and needs paying for. I've blocked this number as it's definitely a scam

Fraud My mum got a bill for £45 for this number that said she was on the phone for 25 minutes but she's never rang this number. She gets alot of calls that hang up so it might be one of them that has somehow not disconnected the call and reversed the charge. Be wary

Second call received from John at computer maintenance. First time when I told him that there wasn t a computer at this number he hung up, hoped this would deter further calls. But following day different time he phoned again told him that still didn t have computer and wanted to be taken off their database at which point he hung up. Waiting to see if they ring again.
