It is the police. It s a ghost number so it doesn t show up as unknown/no number. Always check and confirm who people are though as there are scams. Scams will ask about credit cards, and want info they can actually benefit from.
Just been called from this number claiming to be from the Government inland revenue. Apparently I have an outstanding tax fraud case against me and if I didn’t press 1 I will be arrested. London number and called from Charing Cross. Will report the call on the police web site.

This number is used for telemarketing purposes, mostly reported as Better Business Group or Injury Claim Lawyers, insurance marketing or similar - in fact just some call centre, the number is very likely VoIP number, sometimes people rated it as an oversea
When asked if I was receiving nuisance calls I answered that was, including this one! I pointed out that as I am registered with TPS he should not be calling me. He insisted they were working with TPS.I hung up!
