Got a call this morning from a lady. I could hardly understand a word she was saying. Thick accent and slow sounding voice. I repeatedly apologised for not being able to understand and asked her to repeat herself. She hung up.

SCAM: Supposedly from HSBC Bank, TEXT message alleging " A payment was attempted from a NEW DEVICE on (date-time). If this was NOT YOU, please visit (web address)" that looked like an HSBC one. Trouble is I don't have any Bank accounts ????

SCAM Car accident claim scam pretending to be working in association with LV. I played along with this to extract as much info as possible to warrn others. They had a surprisingly and slightly worrying amount of information and data. It would seem there might be a source at LV for this that would know car details and driver details from 2 years ago. I know this as they referred to the principle owner who has passed away during that period and held the policy. I was a named driver during their period.
They are after your pension details but hang up if you ask any questions

SCAMMERS - PLEASE DONT FALL FOR IT! Had a call from this number claiming to be from “my bank” - they didn’t mention the name of the bank, I should have thought to ask as I don’t think he knew. Said he wanted to check that an online payment of £2500ish this morning was really made by me. Of course it wasn’t. He wanted me to get my bank card and check the phone number on the back (think the next step would have been to ‘put the phone down’ so I could dial my bank, yeah right). Genuine call from Halifax fraud prevention. They noticed someone in USA somehow used my card for a very small amount £4.24 (apparently they do this to see if it s accepted) They have cancelled my card and are sending a new one straight away. Excellent service from Halifax
