One of those you have had an road traffic accident that is not your fault. I asked were they got my details and they said "road accidents and safety statistics", I then said "surely that data is anonymised", at they she said OK and put the phone down.

They called and said it was a confidential matter and wanted my details so I asked for the companies name but refused to give it as this would prejudice the situation so I advise that their is no provision within the DPA 1988 which states that they are not allowed to disclosed their details prior to me disclosing mine.

Pretended to be BT & said was an engineer called John Morris phoning about our internet being hacked. Said his number was 0203 239 4138 but when checked on ring back it was 01235264789. Hung up when I asked him to put the problem in writing.

Company called my ADHD sons mobile whilst I was out and he answered loads of health questions, including his age and his address. Shouldn t be allowed. He now knows not to even answer his phone unless he knows the number. Annoyed at this.

My phone is already registered and I stopped receiving any calls, however I did have an accident nearly three years ago, in the last few months I have been getting these calls. Apparently my details are available on an insurance database available to these companies. IT’S EASY TO STOP THESE CALLS!!! Simply answer the call and pretend to be interested in what they are offering. You will probably be passed to a "manager" who will arrange for someone to visit you. Go along with it, make the appointment and when the salesman turns up tell him you are not interested and have wasted their time because they are wasting yours by ignoring the law and cold calling you. They hate having their time wasted This has worked for me and gives you a great feeling of having got them back
