received this call from CarphoneWarehouse about my upcoming upgrade. companies have obviously found a way of making their calls "appear" to be a local call when in fact they are a call centre. I am in York and the call appeared to be a York number but I asked the caller where they were calling from and they were based in Loughborough.

27 Nov 2021 - Re nuisance calls, said they were a call blocking service and that to continue 'helping' me they wanted confirmation of new debit card as current one expires next week (it doesn't of course), and naturally they hung up as soon as I started calling them out as totally evil, I'm very concerned that they do actually con people by this method. Reply
I haven't found any ratings for this number somewhere else on internet resources, which should be a good sign... Does someone have some experience with this one? Was trying also different formats of this number, but no luck.
