SCAM This person didn’t know who they were speaking to ( my name). Said I was eligible for a free medical emergency pendant… I asked how they had got my number and said was given them by manager. Just kept repeating his name and same phrase and not answering questions. If this is actually a real call it’s a weird way of going about things. Asked if I was over 50 at the beginning so watch out!!

DANGER ! Definitely Spam. Lady with Indian accent as O2 customer service telling me they had received multiple complaints about signal problem. I said I was satisfied with signal coverage. She then tried to give me a number to call back. I challenged her and told her I thought she not not legit. She started arguing. I said a real customer agent would not argue like that. Put down the phone.

SCAM A recorded message saying that money had been withdrawn from my account to an unexpected payee and I should press 1 (to ignore I think that was) or press 2 for help. Instead of dialling either choice I checked my online banking record. As expected, there was no trace of any unauthorised withdrawals so I blocked the number.

Claims to be BT technical regarding illegal use of broadband band and a threat to disconnect. It’s not it fake. Also calls from other numbers in completely different locations.

Automated call claiming to be from HMRC

Called and asked for very confidential information. I caught the scam and didnt give it to them. They are a danger to society and a threat to children. I am not free to reveal any more details but beware of this number.

Claiming they call from HMRC with a court case against your name. After started asking questions about some proof they work for HMRC, they started panicking and said I can look up the case on the website of UK's Supreme Court. Plot twist - there is no Supreme Court in the UK.

Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). She claimed that there has been suspicious activity from unknown IP addresses using my account and that it was being used for criminal activity and that she needed to help me protect my firewalls etc. I immediately became suspicious as I'd heard of such calls being made and told her that I'd call Virgin directly to resolve any issues. Number appears on a fake PayPal 'You've got a money request'. It is part of a warning that there has been suspicious activity on your (PayPal) account and to call this number - +44-808-196-3116. This is a fake warning added by the scammers, it is NOT a legitimate message from PayPal. If you call the number the Operator will ask to have access to your PC. This is likely where the scam will take place; either malware, key logger or worse.
