Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). She claimed that there has been suspicious activity from unknown IP addresses using my account and that it was being used for criminal activity and that she needed to help me protect my firewalls etc. I immediately became suspicious as I'd heard of such calls being made and told her that I'd call Virgin directly to resolve any issues. Recorded message purporting to be from VISA security advising of two debits to my card, and asking my to press a number to speak to them. Lack of customer name or even name of card issuer made call to generic to be legit, so looks like a scam. However since number is a landline looks like the recorded number is also bogus

SCAM A recorded message saying that money had been withdrawn from my account to an unexpected payee and I should press 1 (to ignore I think that was) or press 2 for help. Instead of dialling either choice I checked my online banking record. As expected, there was no trace of any unauthorised withdrawals so I blocked the number.

SCAM CALL. Automated pretending to be amazon. Blocked it immediately.

They claimed to be from my bank (VM money was Yorkshre Bank) to ask me about potential fraud on my card. (£52 on Argos in Aberdeen) I was supicious when they got agressive when I didn't know my banking paswword and I said I would have to call them back. I called the fraud number I have in my phone (0800 121 4251) and they confirmed it wasn't them that called me before. The chap on the actual fraud line also said that the real bank won't ask for any part of or all your internet banking password EVER!
