Well-known scam has been around for a long time.
Automated call pre recorded voice message informing me that my bank account as been breached and a large withdrawell as taken place and to press 1 on my keypad to receive details on having the money paid bank. I did not press 1 and after a few seconds the call was cut off.
Robotic American voice informing that there was an investigation pending and failure to call back would result in High Court action. Total shock. And of course SPAM!!!
This number keeps phoning me. Lets it ring about 3 times then hangs up. I answered once and they hung up immediately
I don't answer.

SCAM, judging by the many comments left on other look-up numbers. At 08:13 a male voice said he was BT Technical Department. We are not with BT so I put the phone down. The same number rang at 08:22. I did not answer it, so after a few seconds the ringing stopped. Many other people have reported the same experience.
Fraud. Recorded American computer voice message stating that HM Inland Revenue had sent me an 'Official Letter' at which point I hung up.

This was an automated call claiming to be from a bank (unspecified), warning me about two purchases through Amazon, on my bank card. I had a similar call for a local number earlier in the day. I didn't click 1 or 2 to authorise or to get help. Apparently the number is a landline in Bangalore!

Called twice today. Answered 2nd call - "Mike (Punjabi) Smith", from 'BT'. Foreign person using my IP address for illegal purposes - would need to disconnect my internet for 5 days. Told me to hit CTRL+R and Windows key and enter something. I played along (doing NOTHING on my laptop, but then asked him, "You say this is coming from my IP address - then you can tell me what it is!?". He gave me a random number from hos head, I guess.
