I was called by someone calling himself "Yogi" allegedly from Carphone Warehouse and I renewed my contract through him with Vodafone. The incentive being a substantial cash back deal. The cheques never appeared and Vodafone do not know anything about the deal (so they say). Vodafone are refusing to honour the deal and I have reported them to trading standards and the communications commission as they are saying they cannot see on their system who renewed the contract. Phoned to tell me my washing machine warranty has expired and they're sending me the new paperwork by Royal Mail. Read out to me my name and address and when I confirmed these was going to pass me to her "supervisor" to complete a form. Asked her to tell me what brand of washing machine I've actually got. Unsurprisingly she hung up. Don't know what the scam was going to be but clearly there is one
Further call from 020 7473 1729 (probably connected with this number) threatens prosecution by HMRC for tax evasion
Claimed I had an accident in the last 2.5 years and was entitled to compensation. Yeah right! I hadn t of course. I just found out today that you can report these muppets to www.ico.org.uk. If enough people report they can take action. Go for it people!
