Called and asked about a car accident I d supposedly had - as soon as I asked how they knew I was in an accident, they claimed my details were included on a National register of car accidents . I said this was simply not possible, and demanded to know where they had gotten my contact details from and they hung up immediately. Two weeks later, another call. 25 Nov 2021 - Not an 02 or 03 number so are the scammers changing tactics. Couldn’t understand a word chap was saying so put phone down. After reading other comments it would appear to be the scam to white goods insurance cover. I had a similar call a couple of months ago from a guy called Martin (by his accent a long shot on this being his real name) Claiming to be from D&G about renewing insurance cover. indian sounding lady called today, used my "nickname" that I don t use professionally, said that she was calling from Microsoft and that the technical team had noticed a problem with Windows on my computer. When I said I was an IT graduate with several years of support experience and that her story did not add up, and that she was calling from Watford where Microsoft do not have an office, she strangely put the phone down on me!

SCAM. Got an automated message claiming to be from HMRC and said that I have a tax fraud case against me and if I don't press 1 to talk to the taxman, I will get arrested. Sounds like a scam to me.

SCAM Claimed to be a company called AST or Aftercare Support Team. Pretended to be a white goods insurer and offered reduced rate for reinsuring washing machine as policy was due to expire. We don't have insurance on our washing machine, so this was clearly a lie. They did specifically state our house name though, so have clearly collected some specific data about us before calling.
