There were mutterings in the background which sounded like a call centre and nobody answered me when I said hello twice. It cut me off after a few seconds.

Was called by an aggressive man who knew my address and told me they were sending me a cheque for £3500.00 for the discomfort I suffered in a recent car accident. Fake caller pretending to be a hmrc and claiming there was tax fraud investigation and if I didn't answer I would arrested promptly, I pressed 1 and a person answered saying how can I help you today, this therefore told me straight away it was a scam as why does a hmrc officer need to ask me how they can help me if they called me. Don't continue with the unless you want to mess them around.
