I have had three calls last one from a 02031295034 number, thank goodness for this site. I am a widow but very IT literate so knew it was a scam HMRC would write to you not leave a message by somebody with a foreign accent
Have a phone guardian just like one of the other contributors. Brilliant device and definitely recommend it especially for vunerable people. Unless the number is installed into the phone it will not ring except for some numbers which are announced giving the opportunity to accept or reject

Scammers!!!! They called my grandmother regarding a PPI claim, telling her in order to claim she would need to put £400 on a travel card (this was their agency 'commission' apparently), and they would come to her home (beware, they already knew her address) to exchange the travel card for her "PPI compensation cheque". Thankfully we've taught her well and she called me first to ask if I thought it was a scam.
