They rang me in regards to my SIPP with Avalon. I lost out on alot of money when Charles Derby (IFA) moved me over to a personal pension without explaining the risks. This company, think it's called claiming for you or something, are going to put in a claim on my behalf as i have no time to do it myself & are not charging me a fee. They will take a percentage of any money they win back for me.

Said that the latest Windows update had downloaded incorrectly meaning that people could access my computer and so could I please get my computer out for them to talk me through what to do. I've heard of this scam where they will pretend to help but really talk you through downloading something which will allow them to access your computer. I blocked the number when the call ended. SCAM. They will not take no for an answer and will keep calling back and texting if you hang up. I've had to block the number. How are cold callers allowed to operate like this? Are there no laws for this?

This American male calls night after night to a business number and asks for a service that they offer, but then states that their situation is so top secret that they can't share what it is that they want. They then say suddenly that they have to go and they put the phone down. Initially withheld their number. Very odd behaviour and comes across as rather off balance. This is probably stalking/harassment, but it's to an unknown business.

An Indian sounding woman called Lisa. They called about an accident, they couldn't name the person that had the accident, what kind of accident or when. I asked where they got my number from and that was against data protection also. I asked them to remove my number from their list. I have now blocked them with my call blocker pro.

This time I called the number back to see who it was; got a recorded voice telling me I'd reached lotto direct and to please hold while they transfer me to agent. I hung up immediately and came here...guessing they've acquired a new number but same ole scam...thought I would share...
