Supposedly from BT re disconnecting the internet line but recorded message had a female voice with an American accent. Was given a choice of two options, did not take either. Just didn't seem right as we pay another company for our internet line.

I think fraudsters hi jack a genuine number but unrecognised to you and use it to divert you to a recorded message about your national insurance number being used and stolen. If you disconnect and call the number back the genuine holder of the number answers and is bewildered

Be aware if this number calls, it is for a shared costs, so better not to call back. SPAM Said they where from carphone warehouse and they had an offer for a iPhone trading for £40, when I said I didn't use iPhones he asked me what phone I used, I terminated the call after that because I could here he was calling from a call centre and he had a heavy Asian accent, he didn't know my name so everything about this call made me feel it wasn't safe to continue.
