Automated/Silent call. One of a series of calls from mobile numbers starting 077 in the space of a few days. Answered first call, where automated voice said "Your Amazon Prime membership has just been renewed at a cost of £79.99. If you want to cancel this payment, press 1". A recorded message saying "This is a redirected message from British Telecom - your Internet connection will terminate in approximately 30 minutes - press one to be reconnected. I immediately put down the phone as I have had this call already four times this week all different numbers which have been blocked. Called today, the lady was polite but had incorrect information about my work history. Said my number had been given through Reactive Media - another company that is rated untrustworthy - no idea how they got my number (I am on TPS). SCAM Had a number of calls recently offering a new iPhone. I don't use or like Apple products so they are wasting their time. 2 calls yesterday from 01208 247201 - missed the 1st, but they rang again withing seconds. As suspected, another iPhone scam call. That block of numbers is owned by Franzcom Telecoms in Bodmin, Cornwall. Something needs to be done to prevent these foreign scammers spoofing UK telephone numbers.
