Mistakenly answered - it simply clicked off - presumably adding our number to endless harrassers' databases. Luckily, another call I'd missed is also now continually dialling dailly (despite answering), so I can safely (once more) ignore them all. I remember when the phone used to be a means of communication, rather than intrusion - targeting the most vulnerable. This one's probably dangerous.

These must be calling every number in the phone book at the moment, had several missed calls over two days.
Have had 4 phone calls this morning. 3 went dead when picked up. 1 was answer machine message about subscription to amazon and asked me to press 1 to cancel and 2 to discuss options. I put the phone down. Has anyone else had these calls?

Dropped what I was doing & raced downstairs to answer persistent call. Man with an unidentifiable accent garbled something against a cacophony of background noise sounding like the Call Centre from Hell. I asked him to repeat his sentence. Caller claimed to be from Talktalk legal dept in London, despite being Birmingham number. Said they needed to connect me to their server to investigate illegal access from abroad. Tried to talk me through downloading Teamviewer and give him the ID and password! Rang off when I said I would report to police.

Very abrupt chap called Charles said he was from Domestic Appliances and would not let me get a word in edgeways. He said my appliances were no longer covered as my insurance had run out. I asked him which appliance had recently lapsed insurance - he wouldn't answer just said "are all your appliances in working order. I said I already had appliance cover - he put the phone down.

Called me and asked to speak to [my name]. I asked who they were, gave company name. Started trying to small talk with me so I asked the reason for the call. He then said "We re calling because of some information we ve been pass-" and then he hung up on me. Presumably he knew I couldn t be fleeced!
