SCAM - national insurance number fraud
Fraud. Google said number is in Pimpri Chinchwad Maharashtra India. Usual call, do not answer and phone call ends immediately the answering machine kicks in.
Fraud Call claimed to checking on possible fraudulent payments from a bank card (one to Amazon, and one international), and inviting me to press 1 to continue. But as it was left on answering machine this could not be done. No card provider specified and they didn't address me by name. On checking, no such payments have been made from any of my cards.
Was called by this number and when answered it played a recording stating that it was Amazon wanting to know if I wanted to renew my Amazon Prime account. If I did, I should press "1". Having cancelled my Amazon Prime account few months ago and having ordered something two days ago, I knew that I didn't have a Prime account. Called me to tell me I had HMRC after me - was an automated bot voice.
SCAM Received a text from this number claiming a new payee was set up on an HSBC account and if I want to cancel it to click on the supplied link. I received an identical text from a different number about a week ago, they are scams.

After being scammed before are very wary of cold calls and scams. However, this one was picked up without really looking or thinking but I must say this seems a dangerous one because this did sound almost genuine with (as above, claiming to be HMRC). In our case, the line just went dead after it told us to press one to speak to an officer. This is one that could catch unexpecting people out so be careful! We keep it as rule that if in any doubt, ONLY answer numbers that are 0800 or gov numbers (030) unless
