Caller asked me also to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Fealing un easy I said call me back in 5 mins after I could check him out. Found this thread immediately blocked the number on my Pro Call Blocker box i found on ebay for ?25.

I know many people who will no longer answer their landline unless they recognise the callers number. It is businesses like IJT, boiler-room scams and PPI Claim companies who have changed the telephone from a useful tool and friend into a nuisance ridden pain in the arse. Well done everyone!

I got a call at work and a female welsh voice said `I understand you are under 60 years old and therefore you qualify for a pensions bonus payment of £1,000 which you will receive within the next 60 days. Please press 5 to speak to us". Presumably yet another scam to try and get bank details or name and address
