Something about his tone and wording instantly set off alarms that this was a cold sales call, as we receive hundreds of them and I ve grown used to the language they use. I asked who was calling. He gave his name, but no more, so I asked what company he was calling from. He instantly got very defensive and accused me of interrogating him. This is GE Money they have a new campaign where they use local numbers to try and catch people out who have not answered their calls.

Assume from previous post that this is a telemarket company. I no longer pick up the phone until I hear a familiar voice or recognise the caller as genuine; then do 1471; then a ph. no. enquiry site. My friends have got used to this and it saves more aggravation.
