Well spoken female called back after getting cut off. Said they checked my fuse box ten years ago and wanted to do another free check. Asked me to go to the fuse box. I said it was difficult to reach and it was a consumer unit with circuit breakers. She said in that case no need for a check. Obviously if they'd checked ten years ago they would know what equipment I had. Why I continued to engage with her was we had circuit breakers changed by the makers of the consumer unit as they had found quality issues.

Sales call, said were from O2. When asked how she had obtained my number, she was evasive. Asian accent, so thought it was from overseas. I am subscribed to the telephone preference service, so should not be getting marketing or sales calls. I cut them off and blocked.

SCAM - initial recording warned my electric was going to be shut off in a few minutes. When I transferred to a "representative" it was what sounded like an Indian man. He asked my name and verified my address. Funny thing is, my electric bill is in a family members name. He told me the "balance" and the amount was incorrect because I have my bill in front of me and an a real call wouldn't give me info since the account isn't in my name without other info. "Megan" from "Nationwide Fire Safety" claimed that we had a quote last year (2021) for inspection of 5 fire extinguishers for 89+vat but that has expired, but she can offer us 67+vat for 5 and 5+vat for each new one for an inspection on the 24th of October at our Ashford, Kent address. We have never had fire extinguishers, we moved from Kent over 8 years ago and have never received a quote from this company (which doesn't actually seem to exist!).

This number calls me two or three times at about 10 minutes intervals. It never leaves a message. It also seems to be associated with another number 07482876440 which calls with the same pattern. Clearly these numbers are from someone who knows that I do not want to speak to them. Otherwise they would leave their details.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.

I received a recorded message telling me that an attempt had been made to use my credit card for the sum of £900 and that if it wasn’t me I was to press option 1 (there were no other options) when I called the number back I was told by recorded message that the phone was switched off.
