SCAMMERS - PLEASE DONT FALL FOR IT! Had a call from this number claiming to be from “my bank” - they didn’t mention the name of the bank, I should have thought to ask as I don’t think he knew. Said he wanted to check that an online payment of £2500ish this morning was really made by me. Of course it wasn’t. He wanted me to get my bank card and check the phone number on the back (think the next step would have been to ‘put the phone down’ so I could dial my bank, yeah right). I ended the call and rang my ban

SCAM Fraud A computer voice informed me that HMRC was going to arrest me if I didn't press "1" to connect to them. Not sure what would have happened if I had followed the instructions, but this is a nasty fraud all the same.

Automated call from Barclaycard fraud team. As always, don t call this number back but call the number printed on your card. They confirmed it was them that called me.
Scam scam scam. Computer voice said it was from HMRC and I need to press 1 to pay some money regarding a fraud in my name. If I don't then I would have the police coming round for my arrest. Was very laughable because it had no details about me. Just hang up people.

Fraud. Calling from abroad saying they are Citizens Advice Bureau. When I asked why they were calling on a mobile number they said they weren’t so I read the number back to them and they said that they have been passed information by the FCA that I have debts to repay. When I pointed out that this was false and they are clearly a scam they hung up. Called them back and got voicemail which is apparently full.

Just been called by this number to inform me my emails are being used by someone in the usa and if I follow his instructions through my computer we can solve this together. Bloody nice chap! However I do know that once connected to your computer they can lock you out unless you make payments to them. SCAM me thinks. SCAM / SPAM said they were from Visa Headquarters and that a payment of £600 had been made on my Barclaycard. I don’t have a Barclaycard and when I suggested this they hung up. It was an Indian man and the phone number is a Rugby code.

Called saying I had been on an all inclusive holiday in the last few years. I ve never been on an all inclusive, and I only recently changed my mobile number. I asked where they got my number "we work with a number of third parties" was the only response I could get. Didn t even wait to find out what they wanted, asked to be removed from system and also blocked the number.
Internet - Claimed to be calling from open reach to assist with poor upload / download speeds claiming it was due to my router but they didn't even know what router I had! I explained that if they wanted to find the problem that they should send an engineer to the telephone pole opposite where the cover had been off for about 12 months and where the wires were open to the elements. I hung up before the lady could offer to sell something to put it right !
