Yet another slow computer hacker scam - avoid at all costs
TV Guard called me today, offering to reduce 'my' monthly charge from £7 to £5. Caller claimed to be working "at the back of the Government" offering a nationwide service to everyone who owns a television. Obviously this is a scam, but if you didn't know better it sounded quite plausible. The caller offered me his name and extension number - no telephone number to go with it though! Same guy called me - lied to me and asked me for the person who rents our offices - told me that he needed to change the meter urgently when he was trying to sell something. I forwarded the number to the boss so he knows not to deal with him.

male with a strong Indian accent saying when they search for our sector in Google we come up on the 7th page - which is completely untrue as we not only come up as the first, but also run ads to appear at the top too. When I asked if they were definitely referring to Google as we re the largest and most popular in this area, he hung up.
I have had about 20 calls from this number this week. After the first few times of ignoring them, and searching the internet to see who they were, I answered and told them to take my number off their system. Needless to say, they re still ringing me
