Automated call A number that shows up as a local call on my landline (without prefix)..However, it is followed by the well-known 7 bleeps and a pre-recorded message saying "Thank you for calling". I have received hundreds of calls of this type from numbers all over the country. Why it seems to be impossible to put a stop to the company that is responsible for these nuisance calls is something I simply do not understand.

Woman said they had information that I was in a car accident that was not my fault. I asked who was calling. Ignored that and repeated accident stuff. Told her I had never been in a car accident. She hung up!

SCAM Cold call from John of the equity team claimed changes to equity release scheme, wanted to ask me questions to see if I was eligible 'phishing' said I wasn't interested, he said I didn't need to be at this stage I then said he had cold called and it was illegal he said that wasn't right. I repeated he was a cold caller and I wasn't interested. He remained polite but realised he was getting nowhere. I withheld my number and rang 01970607568, it rang, then automated voice, number not accepting calls.
SCAM called about washing machine insurance not the company we are with told him and he hung up. Called back the number to hear "thankyou for callng its ok an agent will be with you shortly" rang 3 times and hung up

How did they get my details when this is not my phone it's paid for by somebody else 250 miles away. The mind boggles at how much scammery people think they can get away with. SCAM - initial recording warned my electric was going to be shut off in a few minutes. When I transferred to a "representative" it was what sounded like an Indian man. He asked my name and verified my address. Funny thing is, my electric bill is in a family members name. He told me the "balance" and the amount was incorrect because I have my bill in front of me and an a real call wouldn't give me info since the account isn't in my name without other info. Called March 10 2922. Domestic appliance insurance scam. Didn't wait for all the details. Typical asian voice saying insurance was running out. Normally they offer to renew at a discount if you give them your card details. NEVER give out personal details or bank details to anyone who phones you. If in doubt find the phone number you want from an independent source and phone them.
