This is actually Santander. I just had £400 of bank charges refunded by them over the phone and had my online banking on to check the refunded had been made at the same time. They asked for part of my date of birth and address, which they have to do to check the right person answered the phone. They were able to quote my bank account numbers (all 4 accounts) and balances on them. They referred to a call I made to them earlier in the week. This is not a scam. I have been called several times yesterday back to back from firstly a London number twice, then twice from private number and this one today. They all start by saying am I ****** when I ask who they are they mumble something then ask me if I own or rent my property. The person who called today was female and I could actually understand what she said, except for the initial mumble. The first two London calls where listed as suspected spam, however, some of calls in this category have been bona fide.

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with insurance business - life insurance, PPI, sometimes also accident chasers... Block the range 02895832xxx...
I've had repeated calls from this number on both my landline and mobile. When you never answer and cut the mobile of before it finishes ringing, you'd think somebody would realise that you don't want to talk to them.
